Wow, where has this year gone to. It has been a busy year for us at Chippewa Valley Lock & Key LLC. We have been busy to the point of closing our doors to all walk in traffic, which started Sept. 01, 2017 because we are so busy we can’t get bills sent out. We use this day each week as a paperwork and restocking day. We lost our main locksmith, Dave Pettis to that horrible disease cancer on Aug. 26th at age 55. Dave has been with us since we opened our doors in 1995. He is missed. R.I.P. our friend. I have been lack on my blogs but look to do better in the coming year. I purchased some new audiography equipment to do more vblogs.
The lock shop has been swamped this year which is great. Economy is up and is helping. Remember to secure your homes and businesses. There is more thefts and burglaries going on in our area and I think it is because of drugs. People are looking for things to steal to support their drug habits. If you have any questions about your security issues, please give us a call.
Mic you plan to leave your home for the holiday, get a notorized letter giving your care givers permission to contact a locksmith in the event they lock the keys in the residence while they are house sitting. I’ve already had one incident already. They contacted another service that doesn’t care about the security of the owners home. By Wisconsin law, a locksmith CANNOT open the house for anyone except the legal owner. If they do, it is breaking and entering. I will not take that type of liability. Better to do things legal and bypass any problems down the road.
I recommend the home owners buy a Key Safe that attaches to the house and is a combination entry for keys. They also come with a weatherized cover. Stop and see us if you have questions. I will close by saying, on behalf of myself, my wife and our Staff, we wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
